Pentatonic Scales

Last month I heard the Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir sing a hauntingly beautiful pentatonic 'chance' piece. There's something about the underlying tones that is both reassuringly predictable but still open to exploration and creative construction.

Today I saw this video featuring Bobbie McFerrin bringing a pentatonic scale to life for an audience at the World Science Festival. Enjoy.
