Do you think of your house as an investment?

We love our house. We have no interest in leaving it. And yet most of our net worth is tied up in the house. The current project I'm working on (www.lifetuner.org) has made me very aware of the amount of money needed for retirement. I'm not sure where all that money is supposed to come from, if not from the house.

I saw this post today from Seth Godin about what happens when you fall in love with your biggest investment -- irrational behavior. Uh oh.
